TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed two-time Stanley Cup Champion forward Conor Sheary to a three-year contract worth an AAV of $2 million, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced today.

Sheary, 5-foot-9, 179 pounds, played in all 82 games for the Washington Capitals last season, recording 15 goals and 37 points with a plus-9 rating. He ranked fourth on the team for goals, was fifth for points and tied for second for plus/minus. Sheary averaged 15:46 in ice time per game.

A native of Winchester, Massachusetts, Sheary has played in 531 career NHL games with the Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres. He has registered 120 career goals and 252 points. Sheary won back-to-back Stanley Cups with Pittsburgh in 2016 and 2017, including scoring the overtime winner during Game 2 of the 2016 Cup Final. He has played in 72 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Penguins and Capitals, recording seven goals and 23 points.

Sheary played four years UMass-Amherst from 2010 through 2014, where he amassed 38 goals and 104 points in 138 games. He was undrafted and signed a free agent contract with the Penguins on July 1, 2015.
