As part of the Lightning's first Hispanic Heritage Night, the game will feature a number of related elements. That will include pre-game on Ford Thunder Alley with activation and a DJ from Rumba 106.5FM. Special guests will also be on hand to ride the Fan Zam, participate in the High Five Tunnel before the game and also press the button to fire the Tesla Coils.
The Lightning will also be hosting more than 1,000 special guests from the RCMA (Redlands Christian Migrant Association), Hispanic Professional Women's Association, Hispanic Services Council, Tampa Hispanic Heritage, West Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Mayor's Hispanic Advisory Council and the Hispanic Sheriff's Advisory Council. In addition, leaders from the Hispanic and Latino communities will be hosted in an AMALIE Arena suite.
The game's national anthem singer and pre-game Thunder Kid will also be representatives of the Hispanic community. There will also be themed food and beverage promotions.
The 50/50 raffle, presented by Moffitt Cancer Center, for the game will benefit the USF Latino Scholarship, while proceeds from Mystery Pucks sold by the Lightning Foundation will go toward Hispanic heritage initiatives and events.
The Lightning's outreach to the Hispanic and Latino communities will go beyond just this one game. The Bolts will continue to bring the game of hockey to those communities through its Lightning Made department, like it has already done at the RCMA Wimauma Academy. In addition, the team has committed to increase Community Hero program nominations from the Hispanic and Latino communities and also participate in Hispanic scholarship programs.
