Lightning players, and those across the NHL, will once again take their support to the ice. The Lightning will be wearing lavender jerseys during warm-ups prior to their game against the Oilers. Players will also be taping their sticks with lavender tape. The jerseys will be auctioned online at
auctions.nhl.com
. A few select jerseys and all sticks will be auctioned during the game at section 123. Each player will also have a lavender nameplate on their locker room stall. The name plates will be auctioned at section 123 at a future Lightning game.
A special check presentation from Coop's Catch for Kids with head coach Jon Cooper will take place during the first intermission. During the second intermission, there will be a check presentation for the Moffitt Cancer Center 50/50 proceeds from the 2017-18 season. There will also be a moment of silence for those who have been lost to cancer, as well as a ceremonial puck drop.
The Hockey Fights Cancer tie, the signature item in the line of commemorative merchandise for this worthy cause, will once again be worn by all coaches, broadcasters and team personnel. Lightning coaches and broadcasters will also wear lavender awareness ribbons. Former Bolt and cancer survivor John Cullen will serve as the Lightning's Hockey Fights Cancer ambassador for the game.
Fans attending the game will have the chance to fill out "I Fight For" cards on Ford Thunder Alley as well as on the concourse behind section 123. AMALIE Arena will also be lavender-clad for the game, including arena dasher boards and other signage. Lightning personalities will wear lavender, including Lightning Girls, ThunderBug, Ice Crew and the Bolt Brigade.
