The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Denis Malgin to a one-year contract extension. The value of the contract is $700,000.

Malgin, 23, played in eight regular season games with the Maple Leafs after being acquired in a February 19 trade with the Florida Panthers. In 192 career NHL games with Florida and Toronto, the Olten, Switzerland native has recorded 60 points (28 goals, 32 assists). Internationally, Malgin has represented Switzerland at the 2017 World Championships, as well as the 2015 and 2016 World Junior Championships.
Malgin was originally selected by Florida in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
