The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has acquired goaltender David Rittich from the Calgary Flames in exchange for Toronto's third round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft. As part of the deal, Calgary will retain 50 percent of Rittich's contract.

Rittich, 28, has appeared in 15 games for the Calgary Flames this season and posted a 4-7-1 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and a .904 save percentage. In 130 career NHL games, the Jihlava, Czech Republic native has a record of 63-39-15 with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. He represented the Flames at the 2020 NHL All-Star Game.
Rittich was originally signed by the Flames on June 13, 2016.
