The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has loaned defenceman Justin Holl to the Toronto Marlies (AHL). Defenceman Morgan Rielly has been activated from the injured reserve list after missing the team's previous six games with an upper body injury.
Holl, 26, scored two goals in two games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled on an emergency basis on January 31, becoming the first defenceman in team history to score a goal in each of his first two NHL games and the sixth player in NHL history to accomplish the feat. He has collected 20 points (four goals, 16 assists) in 39 games with the Marlies this season and participated in the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic last weekend. In 173 career AHL games, the Tonka Bay, Minnesota native has registered 60 points (17 goals, 43 assists). Holl was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round (54th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft and signed an NHL contract with the Maple Leafs on July 2, 2016.
The Maple Leafs visit the Boston Bruins tonight at 7:00 p.m.
