The Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has recalled forward Andreas Johnsson from the Toronto Marlies (AHL). In addition, defenceman Calle Rosen has been recalled on emergency basis from the Marlies.
Johnsson, 23, has skated in 54 games with the Marlies and recorded 54 points (26 goals, 28 assists) this season. In 129 career AHL games, all with Toronto, he has registered 46 goals and 55 assists for 101 points. The Gävle, Sweden native was named to the North Division roster for the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic on January 27 as a replacement for Maple Leaf forward Kasperi Kapanen. Johnsson was originally selected by the Maple Leafs in the seventh round (202nd overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
Rosen, 24, has recorded 17 points (1 goal, 16 assists) in 50 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) and has skated in four games with the Maple Leafs this season. The Växjö, Sweden native signed with Toronto as a free agent on May 16, 2017. Rosen registered 33 points (nine goals, 24 assists) in 96 career SHL games.
The Maple Leafs return to action on March 14 at 7 p.m. when they host the Dallas Stars at Air Canada Centre.
