The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that defenceman Martin Marincin has been recalled from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) while Nikita Zaitsev has been placed on the injured reserve list with a lower body injury.
Marincin, 25, has registered seven points (two goals, five assists) in 18 games with the Marlies this season. During the 2016-17 season with the Maple Leafs, the Kosice, Slovakia native collected seven points (one goal, six assists) in 25 regular season games while appearing in six playoff contests. In 175 career regular season NHL games, he has collected 25 points (three goals, 22 assists). Marincin was originally acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers on June 27, 2015.
