The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has recalled defenceman Travis Dermott from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) while defenceman Martin Marincin has been loaned to the Marlies.
Dermott, 21, has skated in 26 games with the Marlies and recorded 17 points (2 goals, 15 assists) in 2017-18. In 85 career AHL games, all with Toronto, he has registered seven goals and 34 assists for 41 points. The Newmarket, Ontario native was named to the North Division roster for the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic on January 4, 2018. Dermott was originally selected by the Maple Leafs in the second round (34th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
Marincin, 25, appeared in two games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled from the Marlies on December 17, 2017. He has registered seven points (two goals, five assists) in 18 games with the Marlies this season. The Kosice, Slovakia native has appeared in 146 career regular season AHL games and collected 52 points (12 goals, 40 assists). Marincin was originally acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers on June 27, 2015.
The Maple Leafs return to action when they host the Vancouver Canucks at Air Canada Centre on January 6 at 7 p.m.
