Shea Weber, D (87) -- The veteran defenseman finished tied for eighth at the position with 14 goals despite missing 24 games last season. His five power-play goals were tied for fifth among defensemen, and he brought additional value in hits (129; 2.2 per game). If healthy, Weber has the ceiling to finish among the 10 best at the position and should be drafted in the middle rounds of standard, 12-team fantasy drafts.
Brendan Gallagher, RW (111) -- The right wing led the Canadiens with 33 goals last season, and his 302 shots on goal were sixth in the NHL. Gallagher only had seven power-play points but should revert closer to his 17 PPP from 2017-18 if Weber stays healthy for a full season. Gallagher should be targeted around top 100 overall, and his 1.5 hits per game last season give him a higher ceiling among forwards drafted in that range.
Max Domi, C/LW (134) -- The forward had a breakout season with an NHL career-high 72 points (28 goals, 44 assists), shattering his previous best (52 with Arizona Coyotes in 2015-16). His plus-20 was tied for 19th among all forwards, and his 61 even-strength points was tied for 13th in the NHL. Similar to Gallagher, Domi would also have a higher ceiling if the Canadiens power play improves from 30th in the NHL (13.2 percent).
Jeff Petry, D (226) -- Montreal's No. 2 defenseman is worth drafting in late rounds after finishing tied for 15th at the position with 46 points (13 goals, 33 assists). Petry brought valuable exposure to Montreal's forward group (23:07 per game) and remained fantasy-relevant after Weber's return from injury, scoring 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) over his final 58 games. Petry also provides strong coverage of hits (190; 2.3 per game).
