Andrei Svechnikov, LW --Had NHL career highs in all six standard fantasy categories (30 goals, 39 assists, plus-19, 22 PPP, 249 shots on goal, 189 hits) and points (69) in his fourth season. Svechnikov can still reach another gear within Carolina's potent offense and should be considered a top 15 fantasy left wing because of his strong coverage of hits (1.9 per game in NHL career), especially after the signing of veteran Paul Stastny to be the new No. 2 center.
NHL.com point projection for Svechnikov: 72
Brent Burns, D-- He leads defensemen in goals (130), points (489 in 618 games) and shots on goal (2,116) and is fourth at the position in power-play points (175) since moving back to defense for the Sharks in 2014-15. Burns is expected to be a staple on the Hurricanes' first power play with Aho, Svechnikov and valuable wing Teuvo Teravainen. He should once again be considered a fringe top 10 fantasy defenseman after the trade.
NHL.com point projection for Burns: 65
Teuvo Teravainen, LW/RW -- He played mostly on the top line at even strength with Aho and rookie Seth Jarvis last season and on the first power play. Teravainen led the Hurricanes in power-play points (31; tied for 13th in NHL) and had an NHL career-high 202 shots on goal. Especially with the long-term injury to Pacioretty, Teravainen is worth reaching for in the middle rounds with a high ceiling (76 points in 2018-19).
NHL.com point projection for Teravainen: 68
