The Edmonton Oilers center from the Pacific Division leads with 30 percent of the total votes. He is joined by Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin (29 percent) from the Metropolitan Division, Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews (17 percent) from the Atlantic Division, and Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon (13 percent) from the Central Division.
Fans can vote for one player from each division without regard to position. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on Jan. 8, with the top vote-getters by division named All-Stars and captains.

Once captains are selected, NHL Hockey Operations will name the remaining rosters. Each team in each division will be represented by at least one player.
The 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend, which will be held in Las Vegas from Feb. 4-6, will again consist of a three-game tournament, played in a 3-on-3 format, featuring one team from each of the four divisions
McDavid has the biggest lead in any division, ahead of teammate Leon Draisaitl (11.2 percent). McDavid and Draisaitl are tied for the NHL lead with 49 points. McDavid has 17 goals and 32 assists. Draisaitl has 23 goals and 26 assists.
The two Oilers are followed by Anaheim Ducks center Trevor Zegras (7.1 percent), Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk (3.7 percent), Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone (3.4 percent) and Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller (3.3 percent).
Ovechkin, who is third with 47 points (22 goals, 25 assists), is ahead of Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby (13.4 percent), followed by Carolina Hurricanes center Sebastian Aho (6.8 percent), New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox (5.5 percent), Rangers forward Artemi Panarin (5.1 percent) and Rangers forward Chris Kreider (3.8 percent).

The tightest race is in the Central, where MacKinnon (13.1 percent) leads Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov (9.5 percent). MacKinnon has scored 24 points (three goals, 21 assists) in 17 games; Kaprizov has 33 points (11 goals, 22 assists) in 29 games. Behind Kaprizov is Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar (9.3 percent), Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane (7.7 percent), Avalanche center Nazem Kadri (5.5 percent) and Arizona Coyotes forward Phil Kessel (5.3 percent).
In the Atlantic, Matthews (17 percent) leads Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos (9.6 percent). Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron (6.9 percent), Maple Leafs goalie Jack Campbell (6.3 percent), Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin (4.7 percent) and Ottawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk (4.5 percent) round out voting in the division.
