Hill's mask features shark taking bite of eight-legged sea creature

Adin Hill is going on a deep-sea adventure, courtesy of his new goalie mask.

The 25-year-old agreed to a two-year contract with the San Jose Sharks on Aug. 4 to avoid an arbitration hearing. He was acquired in a trade with the Arizona Coyotes on July 17 along with a seventh-round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft for goalie Josef Korenar and a second-round pick in the 2022 draft.
So, naturally, a new helmet was in order. And Hill brought in some important design consultants for his first mask with the Sharks, which features an underwater scene filled with a large ship, a stick with a tribute to his late mentor and goalie coach Michael Maniago, and a shiver of teeth-baring sharks. Dave Fried of Freidesigns did the artwork.
One particularly hungry cold-blooded fish is seen swimming away from an eight-legged creature bearing a striking resemblance to a Kraken. The Seattle Kraken, of course, are in the Pacific Division, and will be seeing a lot of the Sharks once they begin play this season.

"Let my little brother and dad design my first sharks mask with @Friedesigns," Hill posted on Twitter with pictures of his mask. "How'd they do?"
Well if the objective was to make a big splash with a new team with a potential new rivalry brewing, that's a mission accomplished.
