It might not show up on the scoresheet, but Alex Ovechkin might already have the assist of the night.
After ESPN’s Leah Hextall conducted an interview with Washington Capitals coach Spencer Carbery, the captain lent a helping hand to get her up and over the boards and off the ice.
Hextall showed an appreciative smile to Ovechkin before she got right back to work.
To add on to an already successful night for Ovechkin, he tallied his first goal of the season in the second period of the Capitals’ game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Even though Ovechkin won’t get credit for the assist in the scorebook, he will definitely get some credit in Hextall’s book.
