Alex Ovechkin spent his second day in China doing what he does best: playing hockey.

The Washington Capitals captain was on the ice for a hockey clinic with 40 youth players at Shougang Park in Beijing on Monday.

Although Ovechkin, who
arrived in China on Sunday
as an international ambassador for the NHL, made the days of the 12-and-under players who skated with him, he also fulfilled a dream for Peter Zhong. A redshirt freshman forward for Arizona State University, Zhong was born in Beijing and got to pass to Ovechkin for one-timers while serving as his co-counselor at the clinic.

Zhong and his Sun Devils teammates are in China to play in the Renaissance Cup. He and Ovechkin traded jerseys after the clinic was over.

Ovechkin also toured Shougang before the clinic, getting a first-hand look at the site for the 2022 Beijing Olympics, before ending his day with a traditional Peking duck dinner.
