Ovechkin 102117

Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals made some more history on Friday.
After T.J. Oshie scored the game-tying goal with 1:01 remaining in the third period, Ovechkin became the first NHL player with 20 regular-season overtime goals when he scored at 1:56 of OT to give the Capitals a
4-3 victory against the Detroit Red Wings
at Little Caesars Arena on Friday.

Overtime goal No. 20 moved Ovechkin past Jaromir Jagr of the Calgary Flames for the most in NHL history. It was his 10th goal of the season; he's the first player to reach double figures in 2017-18.
The goal was the 96th game-winner of Ovechkin's NHL career, moving him into a tie with Hockey Hall of Famer Mats Sundin for 11th place in NHL history.
