The Washington Capitals captain and Metropolitan Division All-Star had the puck stolen from him by Boston Bruins forward and Atlantic Division All-Star David Pastrnak. Instead of chasing Pastrnak down, Ovechkin attempted to thwart the breakaway late in the second period of the semifinal matchup by sliding his stick down the ice.
The Bruins forward got a good laugh at the play before he buried the Atlantic's 10th goal of the game to close out the win.
Seeing as how it is the All-Star Game, there was no penalty on the play.
