Alex-Tuch

Alex Tuch signed a seven-year, $33.25 million contract with the Vegas Golden Knights on Friday. It has an average annual value of $4.75 million.

"This was a little bit of a surprise," the 22-year-old forward said. "I sat down with [general manager George McPhee] and he said he wanted to sign me to an extension. I was already smiling ear-to-ear before the deal was even done.
"... I've worked really hard to get to this moment. Now it's all about the Golden Knights and being a part of this great franchise for a really long time. This is where I started my full-time NHL career, and seven years is really special, and honestly, I'm just really grateful."
Tuch hasn't played a game this season because of a lower-body injury. He had NHL career highs in goals (15), assists (22) and points (37) in 78 games last season. He had 10 points (six goals, four assists) in 20 Stanley Cup Playoff games, helping Vegas reach the Stanley Cup Final, which it lost to the Washington Capitals.
"It's been special. It's been phenomenal. I don't know how many words I can come up with in my thesaurus to describe it, but I really feel at home here," Tuch said. "I feel that this city really fits my personality, fits everything that I have wanted out of life, and the fans are amazing, the support we get every day at practice and games."

Alex Tuch signs seven-year extension with Vegas

Tuch, who was in the final season of a three-year, entry-level contract signed with the Minnesota Wild on April 13, 2016, was injured in a preseason game against the San Jose Sharks on Sept. 30. He had six points (one goal, five assists) in three preseason games playing on a line with Max Pacioretty and Paul Stastny, who is out months with a lower-body injury.
Tuch was acquired by the Golden Knights in a trade with the Wild on June 21, 2017, under the condition that Vegas would select forward Erik Haula in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft.
Selected by Minnesota in the first round (No. 18) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Tuch has 37 points in 84 regular-season games.
