Alexeyev (6-foot-4, 196 pounds) was selected by the Capitals in the first round (No. 31) in the 2018 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old defenseman was returned to his junior team, Red Deer of the Western Hockey League, on Wednesday and has two goals in two games. Last season he had 37 points (seven goals, 30 assists) in 45 games with Red Deer.
