Forward had 19 points last season, avoids arbitration hearing

Alexey Toropchenko signed a two-year, $2.5 million contract with the St. Louis Blues on Sunday. It has an average annual value of $1.25 million.

The 24-year-old forward was a restricted free agent and avoided a salary arbitration hearing, which was scheduled for July 20. He had 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) in 69 games last season.

Selected by St. Louis in the fourth round (No. 113) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Toropchenko has 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) in 97 regular-season games, and two assists in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
