David Pastrnak had a goal and an assist for Boston (24-13-2). Tuukka Rask made 22 saves.
"Clearly we need to be better, a little more on our toes. I can't sit here and say exactly why today that teams are coming in here and they're ready to play," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "All in all, not good enough. We chased the game for a number of different reasons tonight, not just the start. It's something we've got to correct, especially at home."
Derek Grant scored at 9:59 of the first period to give Anaheim a 1-0 lead, redirecting Getzlaf's slap shot from the top of the right circle on the power play.
Isac Lundestrom scored shorthanded 1:28 into the second period to make it 2-0, sliding the puck five-hole on Rask after Nick Foligno lost an edge in the neutral zone.
"You're a proud player. You're trying to set your expectations high, but the reality sometimes doesn't match it. Obviously, I haven't been good enough," Rask said. "My stick wasn't there, and somehow it trickled through slowly. It shouldn't happen. It's just my stick wasn't there. Just a terrible goal."
Pastrnak cut it to 2-1 at 7:47 with a one-timer from low in the left circle, but Getzlaf pushed the lead to 3-1 at 11:04 when he muscled around the Bruins forward and scored with a partial slap shot through a screen.
"You get things rolling in the right direction and you play the same way. It doesn't matter who the opponent is. We came out with a little bit of an in-your-face type of attitude," Getzlaf said. "We're trying to get to that volume, where we're in that slot area and the net driving plays, those kinds of things. That's been more effective and we're able to score goals."
