5 different Ducks scored in 5-3 win

BOSTON -- Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist for the Anaheim Ducks in a 5-3 win against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Monday.

Hampus Lindholm had three assists, and Troy Terry scored after clearing COVID-19 protocol earlier in the day for Anaheim (21-16-7), which has won two straight. John Gibson made 23 saves.
"I thought all of our guys were prepared to play. I thought it showed in the emotion that we had in our game," said Ducks assistant Geoff Ward, who served as coach with Dallas Eakins in protocol. "Now we've got to take what we need to from this game and springboard it into the next one in Toronto (on Wednesday) because the games at this time of year just keep getting bigger, and they just keep getting more difficult."

ANA@BOS: Getzlaf gives Ducks a 2-goal lead

David Pastrnak had a goal and an assist for Boston (24-13-2). Tuukka Rask made 22 saves.
"Clearly we need to be better, a little more on our toes. I can't sit here and say exactly why today that teams are coming in here and they're ready to play," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "All in all, not good enough. We chased the game for a number of different reasons tonight, not just the start. It's something we've got to correct, especially at home."
Derek Grant scored at 9:59 of the first period to give Anaheim a 1-0 lead, redirecting Getzlaf's slap shot from the top of the right circle on the power play.
Isac Lundestrom scored shorthanded 1:28 into the second period to make it 2-0, sliding the puck five-hole on Rask after Nick Foligno lost an edge in the neutral zone.
"You're a proud player. You're trying to set your expectations high, but the reality sometimes doesn't match it. Obviously, I haven't been good enough," Rask said. "My stick wasn't there, and somehow it trickled through slowly. It shouldn't happen. It's just my stick wasn't there. Just a terrible goal."
Pastrnak cut it to 2-1 at 7:47 with a one-timer from low in the left circle, but Getzlaf pushed the lead to 3-1 at 11:04 when he muscled around the Bruins forward and scored with a partial slap shot through a screen.
"You get things rolling in the right direction and you play the same way. It doesn't matter who the opponent is. We came out with a little bit of an in-your-face type of attitude," Getzlaf said. "We're trying to get to that volume, where we're in that slot area and the net driving plays, those kinds of things. That's been more effective and we're able to score goals."

ANA@BOS: Pateryn snipes slap shot to pad Ducks lead

Taylor Hall got it to within 3-2 at 15:52 of the second when he tapped in Brad Marchand's centering pass on the power play.
Terry, who missed four games while in protocol, gave Anaheim a 4-2 lead at 6:12 of the third period, and Greg Pateryn scored with a slap shot from the top of the right circle to make it 5-2 at 10:58.
The goal was Pateryn's first since March 29, 2019, when he played for the Minnesota Wild (44 games).
Erik Haula scored on a one-timer from the slot at 16:28 for the 5-3 final.
Foligno left the game with an upper-body injury after fighting Ducks forward Sam Carrick at 8:55 of the second. Cassidy did not have an update on the forward's status.
"I don't know if [the injury] was in the fight," Cassidy said. "I haven't seen him yet, so I'll check in with him. We'll have a better idea tomorrow."
