Bob Murray

Bob Murray had his contract as general manager of the Anaheim Ducks extended for two seasons Saturday.

He is under contract through the 2021-22 NHL season.
"It's an honor to work for a great organization, led by terrific ownership," Murray told the Ducks website. "Having a successful franchise is a group effort, and I'm grateful for the efforts of many, including my entire hockey operations staff."
Murray, who is in his 11th season as executive vice president/GM, is a three-time finalist for NHL General Manager of the Year and won the award in 2013-14. The Ducks have reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs in six consecutive seasons, including five straight seasons with at least 100 points.
Anaheim (15-11-5) is second in the Pacific Division with 35 points and has won seven of its past nine games.
"[Bob] has created a winning organization with his commitment and expertise," Ducks chief executive officer Michael Schulman said. "We are very pleased to be in a position where expectations are high virtually every season, thanks in large part to Bob and his staff. We passionately share a common goal: bringing another Stanley Cup to Orange County."
Murray was GM of the Chicago Blackhawks from 1997-99 and worked as a professional scout with the Vancouver Canucks from 1999-2005 before he joined Anaheim in July 2005 as senior vice president of hockey operations. Murray, who is nearing 1,000 games as an NHL GM (975 games; 188 with Chicago, 787 with Anaheim) was named to his role on Nov. 12, 2008.
