Faulk, Acciari lift Blues past Ducks for seventh straight win

ST. LOUIS -- Justin Faulk's go-ahead power-play goal with 4:13 remaining helped the St. Louis Blues extend their winning streak to seven games with a 3-1 victory against the Anaheim Ducks at Enterprise Center on Monday.

Faulk scored on a wrist shot from the left face-off circle to give the Blues a 2-1 lead after Robert Thomas' initial shot was blocked.
"The power play came through for us," St. Louis coach Craig Berube said. "[Faulk's] been a real good player here since the trade [in 2019] in all situations. Logs a lot of minutes and plays the game properly. He's got a great shot, which he showed tonight on the power play."
Noel Acciari scored twice, and Jordan Binnington made 27 saves for the Blues (10-8-0), who set an NHL record for consecutive wins after losing eight or more games in a row. The Philadelphia Flyers (Nov. 11-Dec. 2, 2017) and San Jose Sharks (Nov. 5-30, 2005) each lost 10 straight before winning six consecutive games.
"I think we know we're a good team and we're relentless," Acciari said. "We just didn't give up on each other. We found our stride and we're going to keep trying to stick with that and keep getting better.
"I think the pucks have started going the right way. We're starting to get some bounces and I think the confidence for some guys [is] starting to come back from that eight-game skid. Things are clicking, but there's still some things we need to work on. We knew they were going to give us [their] best, and we were able to stick with the game and get a win there."

Cam Fowler scored, and John Gibson made 24 saves for the Ducks (5-13-1), who have lost six of seven and are yet to win in regulation this season, tying the second-longest streak in NHL history (Calgary Flames, Oct. 2-Nov. 19, 1999).
St. Louis defeated Anaheim 6-2 here on Saturday.
"I thought it was 'Even-Steven' 5-on-5," Ducks coach Dallas Eakins said. "They were able to grab one on the power play late after we just couldn't get a hold of the puck and get it down the ice. They had one chance and it was bouncing around like crazy. It came down to special teams and they were able to convert and we weren't."
Acciari scored 11 seconds into the first period to give the Blues a 1-0 lead on Brayden Schenn's assist after a Fowler turnover. Acciari went to his forehand before beating Gibson on the backhand.

Fowler tied it 1-1 with 18 seconds left in the first after his shot from the top of the left circle caromed off Blues defenseman Nick Leddy's leg. The Ducks had two power-play opportunities in the third prior to Faulk's go-ahead goal and failed to convert, getting three shots on goal.
"At some point, you need to start getting the results," Fowler said. "We can look at the positives as best as we can, but our power play had the chance to put the game away, a couple opportunities and we didn't get the job done and they did. That's the hockey game. There's still a lot of areas in the game where we can still be better."
Acciari scored an empty-net goal with 19 seconds remaining in the third for the 3-1 final.
"I think it's just good to feel that success," Binnington said. "We've got to just keep working hard and keep our head down. It's good to get some wins for sure."
NOTES: Fowler has seven points (two goals, five assists) in a four-game point streak. ... Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk was plus-1 in 18:14 after missing four games with a groin injury. ... Blues forward Jordan Kyrou had an assist on Faulk's goal to give him eight points (two goals, six assists) in a five-game point streak. ... St. Louis forward Pavel Buchnevich, named the NHL's Second Star of the Week on Monday, had an assist to give him 10 points (three goals, seven assists) over the past seven games. ... Blues defenseman Colton Parayko played 22:11 after missing three games with an upper-body injury. ... St. Louis forward Vladimir Tarasenko missed his second straight game due to illness. ... Blues defenseman Torey Krug was a late scratch with an undisclosed injury after participating in warmups. ... Acciari has three goals in the past two games.
