LAS VEGAS --Erik Haula tied the game late in the third period, and Alex Tuch scored the only goal in the first shootout at T-Mobile Arena to lift the Vegas Golden Knights to a 4-3 win against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.
Malcolm Subban made 26 saves, four of them in overtime, and James Neal and Oscar Lindberg scored for the Golden Knights (17-9-1), who have won two in a row following a three-game losing streak.

Subban's best saves in overtime came against Ondrej Kase with 3:34 left and Brandon Montour with 1:15 remaining.
"Our team played such a good game, and when it came down to a shootout, I had to bear down and give my team a chance to win the game," Subban said. "I felt like I didn't want to let anyone down."

On his first NHL shootout attempt, Tuch lifted a backhand over goalie John Gibson's shoulder in the top of the third round.
"That's not even my coolest move," Tuch said. "I have one that hopefully never has to come out because we're winning. I've never done it in that situation."
Francois Beauchemin, Antoine Vermette and Corey Perry scored for the Ducks (11-11-6), who have lost three straight (0-1-2). Gibson made 40 saves.

Neal scored at 18:34 of the first period to give Vegas a 1-0 lead. Lindberg made it 2-0 16 seconds later, beating Gibson on the rebound of a Deryk Engelland shot at 18:50.
"[Gibson] had a huge first period," Perry said. "We could've been down 5-0. He's been a rock back there."
The Ducks scored twice in 3:59 in the second period to tie it, beating Subban with two of their first three shots after being outshot 19-7 in the first, and took the lead late in the period.
Beauchemin cut the Golden Knights lead to 2-1 at 1:03, and Vermette tied it 2-2 when he deflected defenseman Kevin Bieksa's shot at 5:02 with Lindberg serving a double minor for high-sticking Kevin Roy.
Anaheim went ahead 3-2 at 16:14 on Perry's second goal in as many games. Adam Henrique passed to set up a breakaway for Perry, who scored with a slap shot from above the hash marks.

"I felt good on the ice, which is the most important thing for me," said Henrique, who has an assist in all three games for the Ducks since being acquired in a trade from the New Jersey Devils last Thursday. "That's been the biggest thing for me."
The Golden Knights, who are 11-2-0 at home and 9-1-0 in the Pacific Division, have won six of seven games that have gone past regulation.
"That's how hockey goes," Tuch said. "That's how the game is played. You've just got to play through it."

They said it

"I'm not going to get too wired up about how we played in it and how we didn't close it out. We got a point, we're going to move on. It's been a tough road trip. We played some good teams in some raucous buildings. We were down 2-0 and we found a way to steal a point." -- Ducks coach Randy Carlyle on their 1-2-3 road trip
"That's the one thing I've tried to work on my career, is not overthinking anything and just playing the game. You put in so much hours in practice and stuff, when you get in the game, you just got to do it. It just comes natural. I just try to get in there and try to play my game and do what I can to make the save." -- Golden Knights goalie Malcolm Subban
