Anthony Beauvillier was traded to the Nashville Predators by the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday for a fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
The 26-year-old forward has 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 45 games for the Blackhawks and Vancouver Canucks this season. He was traded to Chicago by Vancouver for a conditional pick in the 2024 NHL Draft on Nov. 28.
This came after he was traded to Vancouver by the New York Islanders with forward prospect Aatu Raty and a conditional pick in the 2023 NHL Draft for forward Bo Horvat on Jan. 30, 2023.
Beauvillier is in the final season of a three-year contract he signed with the Islanders on Sept. 1, 2021, and can become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
"It's tough," Blackhawks forward Nick Foligno said. "I think for a guy that came in on a short time, he really made his impact on the group. He's a great guy, great player, and I think he was just trying to find his game obviously. He's going to have an awesome opportunity in Nashville, so we're going to miss him because he's really impacted our room and he became a good friend to a lot of guys pretty quickly, which I think speaks volumes and is probably a reason why he's coveted at this time of year, so we wish him well and thank him for his time here obviously."
Selected by New York in the first round (No. 28) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Beauvillier has 243 points (115 goals, 128 assists) in 535 games, 457 of them with the Islanders.
The Predators (36-25-3), who are 9-0-1 in their past 10 games, hold the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.
The Blackhawks (16-42-5) are last in the NHL.
