The Game

The Anaheim Ducks will try to win a fourth game to start the season when they play the Arizona Coyotes at Honda Center on Wednesday.
The Ducks' best start is 3-0-0 in 2006-07 when they won the Stanley Cup.
The Coyotes have not scored in their first two games. Anaheim goaltender John Gibson had 41 saves in a 1-0 win in Arizona on Saturday, his fifth straight win against the Coyotes.
Gibson will start Wednesday after becoming the first goalie in Ducks history to win the first three games of a season.

Players to watch

Arizona forward Michael Grabner scored his first NHL hat trick in Anaheim as a member of the Vancouver Canucks on April 2, 2010.
Max Comtois is one of four Anaheim forwards who have made their NHL debuts this season. He has three points (two goals, one assist) to become the second rookie in Ducks history with a point in each of his first three NHL games. Corey Perry (2005-06) is the other.

Status report

Kesler was the center on a line with Cogliano and Sherwood during the morning skate, but Carlyle said afterward that he had not been cleared to play. Kesler had hip surgery in June 2017, returned to play 44 games last season, but the Ducks have said they want him feeling 100 percent before putting him in the lineup.

Stepan will play in his 600th NHL game. … Silfverberg has five points (one goal, four assists). He's the first Anaheim player to score five points in the first three games since Perry, Kesler and Getzlaf each had five in the first three games of the 2014-15 season.
