The Coyotes trailed by two three times before Nick Cousins and Jakob Chychrun scored 39 seconds apart in the second period to tie it 4-4.
Cousins made it 4-3 at 13:58 after Ducks rookie defenseman Jacob Larsson turned over the puck in the Anaheim zone. Arizona forward Lawson Crouse took possession in the right circle before backhanding a pass to Cousins in the middle.
"Mistakes ended up in our net," Henrique said. "You want to play with the lead. That's where you need to tighten up defensively and make sure you don't give up anything for free."
Chychrun scored from the slot to tie it 4-4 at 14:37 after the Ducks again had trouble exiting their zone.
Anaheim was unable to capitalize on a 5-on-3 power play for 1:08 late in the second period.
"It wasn't a very good period for us," Ritchie said. "Tonight, for whatever reason, in the second, we just kind of took our foot off the gas and let in some easy goals."
Kase gave Anaheim a 1-0 lead when he scored with a backhand on a breakaway 46 seconds into the game. He skated between Ekman-Larsson and defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson as Ritchie lifted a pass that landed in front of Kase at the Arizona blue line.
The Ducks had one goal in their previous 16 power plays when Sprong scored with the man-advantage at 13:37 of the first period for a 2-0 lead.
Ritchie deflected Sprong's point shot off the inside of the left post, but the Ducks maintained possession in the corner before Jakob Silfverberg made a backhand pass into the slot to Sprong, who scored on a one-timer.
Four seconds after a 5-on-3 power play for the Coyotes expired, Ekman-Larsson scored on a one-timer from the inside edge of the right circle to make it 2-1 with 17 seconds left in the first.
Henrique scored 12 seconds into the second period to give Anaheim a 3-1 lead. Cousins was skating back toward Arizona net when he lost the puck. Ritchie took possession at the side of the goal and backhanded a pass out front to Henrique.
The Coyotes were assessed a penalty for delay of game after coach Rick Tocchet unsuccessfully challenged that the Ducks were offside prior to the goal.
Arizona's Christian Fischer scored to make it 3-2 at 8:22 of the second when the puck came to him after Gibson was unable to trap it behind the net and could not get back into position to make the save.
Anaheim went back ahead by two goals when Kase scored off a double deflection at 12:18 to make it 4-2.
"It was eventful, for sure," Fischer said. "Both teams had their looks, and I thought we played well out there. Kind of shut down when they had some chances and kept things simple when we needed to."
