Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews scored his first career Stanley Cup Playoff goal on Monday.
Matthews, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, put in his own rebound at 14:08 of the first period against the Washington Capitals in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference First Round series at Air Canada Centre. Matthews had 69 points (40 goals, 29 assists) in 82 regular-season games, but did not have a point in the first two games of the playoffs.
