Walker split

Nathan Walker will have the support of Australia behind him when he makes his NHL debut Saturday.

The Washington Capitals forward, who is set to become the League's first player from Down Under, received a goodwill video from some prominent Australians on Saturday, including golfers Jason Day and Adam Scott, NBA players Matthew Dellavedova, Andrew Bogut, Thon Maker and Aaron Baynes, and ambassador of Australia to the United States Joe Hockey (yes, that's his name).

NFL players Adam Gotsis, Ben Graham and Sav Rocca and former Major League Baseball pitcher Grant Balfour also chimed in to offer their best wishes for Walker.
Walker, who hails from Sydney, was the first player from Australia to be drafted when he was selected by the Capitals in the third round (No. 89) in 2014. He and the Capitals will play the Montreal Canadiens at Capital One Arena on Saturday (7 p.m. ET; CITY, TVA Sports, NBCSWA, NHL.TV).
