Nathan Beaulieu

Defenseman Nathan Beaulieu signed a two-year contract worth $2.4 million per season with the Buffalo Sabres on Monday.

Beaulieu, 24, who was a restricted free agent, was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing in Toronto on Aug. 4 He was traded to the Sabres by the Montreal Canadiens on June 17.
He had 28 points (four goals, 24 assists) in 74 games with the Canadiens last season, and has 60 points (seven goals, 53 assists) and 152 penalty minutes in 225 NHL games. He was the No. 17 pick in the 2011 NHL Draft by Montreal.
