Kirby Dach made his season debut for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 3-1 loss to the Nashville Predators at United Center on Saturday.

The forward had one shot on goal in 19:04 of ice time.
"I felt good out there," Dach said. "It's good to kind of get back into the swing of things. I think there's still another level that I can take my game to."
Dach broke his right wrist during a pretournament game with Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship on Dec. 23. He had surgery Dec. 29 and was expected to be out 4-5 months; Saturday was two days short of three months.
"I never had no doubts in my mind that I was going to play [this season]," Dach said. "I knew I just [had] to put my head down and work my way back. It feels good to be back, but at the same time it feels a little muted right now because we lost the game."
The 20-year-old rejoined practice with Chicago on March 8, and the Blackhawks activated him off long-term injured reserve Saturday.
"My legs have felt fine, my conditioning has felt fine," Dach said. "I don't think that was ever the issue coming back, it was more my wrist and feeling comfortable with it along the wall or [on face-off] draws or making plays that way."
The No. 3 pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, Dach scored 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 64 regular-season games and six points (one goal, five assists) in nine postseason games last season.
"I'm not going to change anything from the way I played before," Dach said. "I'm still going to play hard and do those types of things. I'm not going to shy away from contact."
Predators forward Filip Forsberg was scratched with an upper-body injury. He led the Predators with 11 goals and 29 points in 34 games this season.
Luke Kunin played for Nashville after missing 13 games with a lower-body injury. The forward had two assists playing 13:14 after he had three in his first 17 games.
Chicago (16-14-5) is fourth in the Discover Central Division, now two points ahead of Nashville. The top four teams will make the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"We're right in the mix of things, and we want to be in that playoffs spot," Dach said. "We know it's going to be a fight until the end. We've got to find a way to bring it."
