Darling-Cubs 12-23

Fans of the Chicago Cubs, and many supporters of the Chicago Blackhawks, are going to love Scott Darling's mask for the 2017 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.
The Chicago Blackhawks goalie showed off the mask at the team's practice Thursday, and it honors the World Series champion Cubs with baseball stitching, the face of former Cubs broadcaster Harry Carey and Wrigley Field's iconic marquee.

The Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians in seven games for their first championship in 108 years, and the marquee on Darling's mask says "World Series Champions!"
Darling's nod at the Cubs will excite fans in Chicago but adds a new layer to the Cubs' legendary rivalry with the St. Louis Cardinals. The cities' rivalry will be renewed when the Blackhawks play the St. Louis Blues at the home of the Cardinals, Busch Stadium, on Jan. 1 (3 p.m. ET; NBC, SN, TVA Sports)
