McAvoy suspended one game for illegal check to head

NEW YORK --Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has been suspended for one game for an illegal check to the head of Columbus Blue Jackets forward Josh Anderson during Game 6 of the teams' Second Round series in Columbus on Monday, May 6, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 19:37 of the second period. McAvoy was assessed a minor penalty for illegal check to the head.
