Blackhawks end Bruins winning streak at six games

CHICAGO --Patrick Kane scored the go-ahead goal with 3:16 left in the third period to help the Chicago Blackhawks end the Boston Bruins' six-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory at United Center on Sunday.
"That's one of the best shots we've seen all year," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "And a very timely goal as well."

Brent Seabrook and Artem Anisimov scored, Jonathan Toews had three assists, and Anton Forsberg made 31 saves for the Blackhawks (30-32-8), who won at home for the fifth time in eight games after going 0-6-1 in their previous seven. They trail the Colorado Avalanche by 12 points for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.

"Obviously time's winding down here and we want to put our best foot forward every game and try to win every game," said Kane, who also had an assist. "So, it was another opportunity here at home in front of our fans to do that and it was nice to get a win."
Zdeno Chara scored and Anton Khudobin made 36 saves for the Bruins (43-16-8), who trail the Tampa Bay Lightning by six points for first place in the Atlantic Division.
"It was just one of those games, didn't look like anybody on either team was going to dominate in terms of offensive puck play," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "Took a couple of fatigued teams, and eventually we got our goal. Unfortunately, it didn't work out for us."
Kane gave the Blackhawks a 2-1 lead 18 seconds into a four-minute power play. Seabrook made it 3-1 at 18:55 of the third.
"Nice to have that opportunity with three-and-a-half minutes left when you got a four-minute power play and maybe get a chance to win it," Kane said. "Thought the power play moved it around pretty good tonight, we had some chances, we had some good looks and nice to get a couple in too."
Chara tied the game 1-1 at 10:57 of the third when he received a pass from David Krejci and put a wrist shot past Forsberg.

The Blackhawks took a 1-0 lead at 7:26 of the first period when Anisimov redirected Toews' shot for a power-play goal.
