Raddysh has 1st NHL hat trick for Blackhawks in win against Bruins

CHICAGO -- Taylor Raddysh had his first NHL hat trick for the Chicago Blackhawks in a 6-3 win against the Boston Bruins at United Center on Tuesday.

"Yeah, that was pretty cool," Raddysh said. "We came in here knowing they were going to be a pretty hard team to play. I feel like we did a pretty good job at getting all four lines going and just everyone coming to work. I was fortunate the puck went in. It obviously feels good when that happens."

Boris Katchouk had a goal and two assists, and Petr Mrazek made 16 saves for the Blackhawks (23-38-6) before he left the game at 8:48 of the second period. He had made two saves against Trent Frederic before a shot by Dmitry Orlov at 7:47 knocked Mrazek's mask off his head. He was replaced by Alex Stalock, who allowed three goals on 26 shots for the win.
Chicago coach Luke Richardson said Mrazek left with a groin injury, which has been an issue in the past.
"Very similar injury to earlier in the year, but not as severe," Richardson said. "So, that's good news. But we'll have to reevaluate him tomorrow morning and get him checked out properly. As of now, he's probably not going to start the [upcoming five-game] trip with us, but they think he'll probably join us on the trip, so that's the good news.
"Doesn't seem to be as bad, they said, so I think they just said he pulled himself because he knows it could get worse if he stayed in. It could have been really bad, so I think it was a smart call to get him out. Of course, Alex is the type of goalie that can go into a situation like that, the way his play is and his manners, he can handle that situation, so it worked out well."
Hampus Lindholm had a goal and an assist, and Linus Ullmark made 23 saves in his first loss since Jan. 29 for the Bruins (50-11-5), who have lost three of four. Boston has a 17-point lead on the second-place Toronto Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division.
"You get humbled in this league if you don't put on your work boots and don't come to play together as a team," Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said. "That mental focus has been there. Now it's two stretches that we haven't had it. First one, I thought it was physical fatigue. This one, there's no reason for physical fatigue, and we look like we're tired."

Raddysh tied it 3-3 at 3:55 of the third period off a scramble in front before Katchouk put Chicago ahead 4-3 at 6:59, when he scored from the right face-off circle on a rush after picking up the puck at his own blue line.
Tyler Bertuzzi appeared to score on the power play for the Bruins at 11:14, but the goal was overruled when video review confirmed the puck did not cross the goal line.
Raddysh pushed the lead to 5-3 at 16:08 on the power play.
Boston forward David Pastrnak failed to score on a penalty shot at 18:36 before Raddysh completed his hat trick into an empty net at 19:15 with his 20th goal for the 6-3 final.
"I think Taylor's a smart defensive player and now with [linemate Jason] Dickinson out there, they were going out next if we didn't get that empty-netter," Richardson said. "That's the responsibility that he's earned. He's going to make the right plays. He's not going to ice the puck or miss his check defensively. So, he's got 20 goals, which is the first time for him, I believe, and a really fun night to have a hat trick. More importantly his all-around game is excelling. It's good to see."

MacKenzie Entwistle gave Chicago a 1-0 lead at 14:29 of the first period when he skated down the left wing, cut around Boston defenseman Connor Clifton and beat Ullmark to the near post.
Lindholm tied it 1-1 at 14:58 of the second period on a shot from the left point through traffic.
Joey Anderson put the Blackhawks up 2-1 at 16:32, taking a pass from Katchouk through the crease and scoring from a sharp angle.
Frederic tied it 2-2 at 19:48. Bertuzzi sent a pass into the slot that Frederic redirected between Stalock's legs.
Pavel Zacha gave Boston its first lead of the game, 3-2 at 3:02 of the third period when his shot from the left circle deflected into the net off the skate of Chicago defenseman Jarred Tinordi.

"It's our starts," Bruins forward Charlie Coyle said. "Our starts are kind of killing us. It got covered up there in that first Detroit [Red Wings] game [Saturday] because we ended up winning, so maybe you don't think about it as much.
"That next game [a 5-3 loss on Sunday at Detroit], it's the same thing. Bad start and we're behind the eight-ball. Today, probably could have been a little better as well. It's a shame because there's no excuse for that. We had the day off [Monday]. We should be coming in ready to go and have that great start."
NOTES:Raddysh has six goals in the past four games. … Blackhawks forward Mike Hardman had one shot and four hits in 11:01 in his season debut, and forward Buddy Robinson had one shot and one hit in 11:05 in his first game since Oct. 12. Each was recalled from Rockford of the American Hockey League on Monday.
