How acquired: Selected with No. 53 pick in 2017 NHL Draft
2021-22 season:Boston (NHL): 15 GP, 0-3-3; Providence (AHL): 41 GP, 10-25-35
This is truly a make-or-break season for the 23-year-old, who has seemingly been on the cusp for years.
Studnicka (6-2, 186) has played 37 NHL games but has yet to stick, with seven points (one goal, six assists). The Bruins are hoping that Studnicka can fulfill his promise and, on July 23, signed him to a two-year contract. The deal is two-way for this season and one-way in 2023-24.
"His game's maturing. It's rounding out," Providence coach Ryan Mougenel said. "He's got to watch the puck go in the net. He's got to get touches. He's got to play with confidence. He's done everything we've ever asked him to do. We asked him to get bigger, we asked him to get stronger. He's done those things. Now it's his time."
