bruins halloween

The Boston Bruins are squad ghouls.

The team paid a virtual visit to children from different local hospitals on Friday. Bruins players put on a Halloween show over video chat, playing musical chairs and bobbing for apples.
"For us, it's so rewarding to change our day, a lot of times, and change theirs," forward Nick Foligno said. "I've been on the other side as a parent and that little moment you can change a kid's day when they're going through something so hard, is so gratifying to see as a parent."

Members of the team dressed as the characters from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs." Jeremy Swayman dressed as Snow White, Charlie McAvoy as Doc, Charlie Coyle as Sleepy, Foligno as Happy, Brandon Carlo as Grumpy, Karson Kuhlman as Dopey, Mike Reilly as Sneezy, Connor Clifton as Bashful, and Derek Forbort as The Evil Queen.

Foligno signed off with hopeful wishes for the local patients, saying the Bruins are thinking of them and pulling for them.
"I actually spent a lot of time at Boston Children's with my daughter and she came out doing really well so I wish you guys nothing but the best and I hope you guys have a great Halloween," Foligno said.
Foligno's daughter Milana had heart surgery at Boston Children's Hospital in November 2013. The care Milana received played a part in Foligno's signing with Boston.
"Boston has a very special place in our heart because of that,"
Foligno said in July
. "It was, my wife said, serendipitous in a way, coming back to a place that gave us a chance to be a family in the first place. So we're really looking forward to that bond already that's created because of it. We love the doctors and the people in that hospital. We're looking forward to now playing in front of them, having them cheer us on."
