Boston Bruins forward David Backes will be out indefinitely with a concussion.
Backes, 32, was injured on a hit by Buffalo Sabres forward William Carrier in the first period of the Bruins' 4-2 win on Thursday.

Backes has 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in 33 games with the Bruins this season, his first in Boston after spending the first 10 seasons of his NHL career with the St. Louis Blues.
Backes, who has 479 points (215 goals, 264 assists) in 760 NHL games, had missed 16 games in his previous eight seasons.
