On Saturday, Richards posted a photo of the old friends from 1994, when the much-younger Richards and Lecavalier were teammates at Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, a boarding school in Wilcox, Saskatchewan.

Richards and Lecavalier are the same age and were teammates at Notre Dame, then for one season with Rimouski of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, before they were both selected by the Lightning at the 1998 NHL Draft. They won the Stanley Cup together with Tampa Bay in 2004, and Richards was the Conn Smythe Trophy winner, leading the Lightning with 26 points in 23 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Richards will be one of the many former Lightning greats who will be on hand for Lecavalier's pre-game ceremony before Tampa Bay's game against the Los Angeles Kings.
