"So he's back home," Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said. "Hasn't been at the rink, obviously. That's all I got from the trainers this morning."
Carlo was injured at 18:27 of the first period after a hit by Tom Wilson and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
There was no penalty called, but Wilson will have a hearing Saturday with the NHL Department of Player Safety for boarding.
"Just feel for 'Brando,'" Bruins defenseman Matt Grzelcyk said. "Obviously don't want to see anyone in that position. Scary for anyone to have to be in."
Carlo has scored three points (two goals, one assist) in 21 games this season. He is second on the Bruins in shorthanded ice time per game (3:06) behind defenseman Jeremy Lauzon (3:08).
"As a team we played the right way after that," forward Brad Marchand said Friday. "We didn't let it distract us or get us down. Obviously we were thinking about [Carlo] the whole game, but we did the job, took care of business on the ice."
