Unrestricted free agent forward Brandon Prust said he hopes to get another chance to play in the NHL.
Prust had one of the worst offensive seasons of his career and sustained an ankle injury that sidelined him for the final month of last season. He had seven points with the Vancouver Canucks, his fewest since 2008-09, and played 35 games, the fewest of his nine-season career.
"If I don't have a contract, I'll earn one," Prust said Monday in comments translated from TVA Sports. "My goal isn't to start in the [American Hockey League]. I would like to go to camp and just be able to prove I still belong."
