Luke Harper, one-half of the bearded tag-team beauties known as The Bludgeon Brothers in WWE SmackDown Live, called out the Sharks facial-hair enthusiasts on Twitter, saying that Burns and Thornton were lucky that Monday Night Raw would be in San Jose instead.
Lucky that Raw is heading to San Jose next week and not the BLUDGEON brand. Rowan told me he doesn't like the look of these 2. Hey @sanjosesharks tell the boys to keep their heads up. pic.twitter.com/vPQ2m2Phlm
The Bludgeon Brothers, like Burns and Thornton, are well known in their sport for their wild facial hair. But they participate in SmackDown, which airs on Tuesdays, as opposed to Raw, which is on each Monday and will be at SAP Center on Feb. 12. Although Harper and teammate Erick Rowan are top contenders in SmackDown, Burns thinks he and Thornton would have a shot against them in the ring.
. I would have liked our chances... I do know we would have looked better in some tight wrestling shorts!! Wish we could have seen ya or got ya with a chair! @WWE@LukeHarperWWE I’ll be heading to the show tho
Burns said he'd be at the Raw show in San Jose, but unfortunately, we'll probably never know how Burns and Thornton would fare in the ring. SmackDown will be down the road in Bakersfield, California on Tuesday, Burns, Thornton and the Sharks will be hosting the Arizona Coyotes that night.
