Reunited and it feels so... strange?
The 2018 Honda NHL All-Star Game turned plenty of rivals into teammates, but it also turned former teammates who are now rivals into teammates once again. New Jersey Devils forward Brian Boyle and New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist were reunited as teammates for the Metropolitan Division and posed for a selfie at Amalie Arena.
Boyle and Lundqvist were teammates with the Rangers from 2009-14, but Boyle joined the Devils, one of the Rangers' staunchest rivals, after signing a two-year contract on July 1. The Devils, who take their rivalry with the Rangers very seriously, signed off on the reunion, but made their feelings clear this is a temporary situation.
