The battle to be named Greatest NHL Uniform is waging, with fans having until Dec. 31 to make their picks from 100 entries.
From now until the end of the year, players will be weighing in with their favorites. Today, New Jersey Devils forward Brian Boyle explains why the uniforms worn by the San Jose Sharks from 1998-2007 are his favorite.

NEWARK, N.J. --New Jersey Devils forward Brian Boyle was a big fan of the Boston Bruins while growing up in Hingham, Massachusetts, but when it came to jersey logos none compared to the San Jose Sharks.
"When the Sharks entered the League (in 1991-92), I remember people couldn't wait to see what the logo would look like and when it went public I got this original Sharks cap that I wore all the time," Boyle said. "That logo with the shark biting the stick is great. I remember (Pittsburgh Penguins coach) Mike Sullivan playing for the Sharks when I was 7-years-old that first season and he'd always come back to Hingham to give skating lessons, so I was a big Sharks fan."
Boyle also said he owned a Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Starter jacket and to this day is a big fan of the 1992 film, "The Mighty Ducks."
"I always used to try and draw the logos of the Sharks and Ducks when I was at school and wasn't paying attention in class," Boyle said with a grin. "You definitely appreciate the 'Original Six' jerseys, though. The look of the Toronto Maple Leafs was always great and the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadiens and Bruins were classics. The Bruins had that black trim on their jersey that was so intimidating, and then teams had to play them in that little barn at Boston Garden."

Despite being a fan of a few different logos, however, it always came back to the Sharks.
"I had that Sharks hat and all my buddies loved it, so I loved it even more," Boyle said. "They were a new team and it was like I had something new that no one else had."
Boyle admitted he also owned a Colorado Avalanche jersey.
"That Avalanche jersey had Peter Forsberg's name on the back and that was sweet because I loved watching him play," he said. "I'd always try and get my dad some Hartford Whalers hats because he was a big fan of going down to Hartford with his buddies when the Bruins were there."
