Elliott made 30 saves in his first start of the series. Greiss made 36 in his first start of the postseason.
Carter Hart started the first three games for the Flyers and 11 this postseason, his first in the NHL. He allowed three goals in each game against New York, which can win the best-of-7 series in Game 5 on Tuesday in Toronto, the East hub city.
"It's tough," Elliott said. "You want to get a win, especially in this pivotal game here. But we're down, but we're not out and I think the guys realize that. We've just got to play our game."
Greiss played his second game this postseason; he made 20 saves in relief of Semyon Varlamov in a 4-3 overtime loss in Game 2.
It was his first NHL postseason start since May 8, 2016, when he lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-0 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Second Round.
"You don't know what's happening, you've always got to be ready," Greiss said. "I think [the challenge] is more physical, just staying in shape, being ready."
Varlamov made 26 saves in Game 3 and led the NHL postseason with a 1.69 goals-against average. He was tied with Andrei Vasilevskiy of the Tampa Bay Lightning with nine wins.
Elliott was 1-0-0 with a 1.47 goals-against average and .913 save percentage this postseason. Hart was 7-4-0 with a 2.08 goals-against average, .931 save percentage and two shutouts, in Games 3 and 4 of the first round against the Montreal Canadiens.
Oskar Lindblom took part in warmups with the Flyers but was scratched. The forward was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a form of bone cancer, in December.
The 24-year-old last played Dec. 7, and his diagnosis was announced Dec. 13. Lindblom completed his treatment July 2 and joined the Flyers in Toronto, the East hub city, on Aug. 11.
