The Boston Bruins goalie made a great glove save that stymied a sure goal from Dylan Cozens during the first period of their game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Trailing 1-0, the Sabres put together a series of glorious scoring opportunities while on the power play. Rask first made a pad save on Jeff Skinner's redirected shot then stopped Arttu Ruotsalainen before lunging to his right to deny Cozens with his glove.
"It's just half-skill, half-luck," Rask said after the game. "It's kind of desperation more at that point. You can't push over to that side so you throw anything at the puck you can, and hopefully it hits you and today it did."
Cozens lauded Rask's effort too.
"Arttuu made a great pass and I just tried to get [a shot] off, and he made a great save," Cozens said. "It's a great save by him."
It was the best of Rask's 32 saves that helped him earn his first shutout of 2020-21, the 51st of his NHL career, and No. 1 star in Boston's 2-0 victory.
