Adams' Scotiabank NHL100 Classic™ second intermission performance marks his return to the NHL stage. The iconic singer/songwriter entertained more than 40,000 fans during the 2017 Scotiabank NHL Centennial Classic™ on Jan. 1 at Exhibition Stadium in Toronto.
"Bryan Adams was a fitting choice to open our year-long NHL Centennial Celebration in Toronto earlier this year," said Steve Mayer, NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President. "As we bring the NHL Centennial Celebration to a close, we are excited to have Bryan join us again in Ottawa for an exciting finale to an historic year."
On November 3, Adams released the best-of album, Ultimate, via UMe/Polydor Records, a collection of Adams' much celebrated career, featuring 21 tracks, plus two new songs.
Adams has been touring the world for nearly four decades. In 2016, the acclaimed singer/songwriter was on tour for this 13th album, GET UP, and in less than a month after release, Get Up reached the Top 10 in nine countries. The album's success came shortly after celebrating the 30th anniversary of Adams' iconic album, Reckless.
Bryan Adams' music has hit #1 in more than 40 countries. He is a Companion of the Order of Canada, has been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and Canada's Walk of Fame, and has received numerous honors including Juno Awards, three Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations, a Grammy Award, American Music Awards and ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards. He has been inducted in Wembley's Square of Fame, the Munich Olympic Hall of Fame, is the recipient of the Ivor Novello Award as well as accolades and awards from Australia, India, Ireland, Germany, Austria and the U.K., to name a very few.
Aside from being on the road doing more than 100 concerts a year, Adams is currently working on writing the songs for the upcoming Musical, "Pretty Woman."
