DALLAS --Ben Bishop made 30 saves for the Dallas Stars in a 1-0 win against the Buffalo Sabres at American Airlines Center on Wednesday.
It was the third shutout this season for Bishop, who is 11-0-1 against Buffalo. "I got to keep it going (against the Sabres). I don't want to talk about it," Bishop said. "So far, so good, and knock on wood. I don't know what it is about them." WATCH: [All Sabres at Stars highlights] Jamie Benn scored for the Stars (25-21-4), who were playing their first game since Jan. 19 following their mandatory five-day break before the 2019 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend. Dallas has scored one goal or fewer in five of its past six games (2-4-0). "We have a lot of guys that can score a lot of goals," Bishop said. "I'm not worried about goal production on any given night. We've seen this year we have to find different ways to win each night. If we can get a 1-0 win, I'll take it because there's going to be other nights that we need some more."

Linus Ullmark made 26 saves for the Sabres (25-19-6), who were playing the second game of a back-to-back (5-4 win against Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday) and were trying for consecutive victories for the first time since Dec. 11-13. "I thought we got our legs under us as the game went on," Buffalo captain Jack Eichel said. "We started to just make simple plays. It worked for us, but there's no moral victories for us at this point of the season. It's either you get two points or you don't." Benn gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 8:39 of the first period. Sabres defenseman Zach Bogosian's pass was intercepted at the blue line by Taylor Fedun. He passed to the low slot for Benn, who deked Ullmark before scoring five-hole. "Just tried to make a good move," Benn said. "We played pretty good and we found a way to get two points. I think there's things we'll be able to watch (Thursday) that we can definitely clean up a bit."

Marco Scandella appeared to tie it 1-1 at 4:28 of the third period on a shot from the left point, but it was ruled no goal because of goalie interference on Nathan Beaulieu. Sabres coach Phil Housley challenged the play, but the call was upheld after a video review. "Honestly, it just happened really quickly," Beaulieu said. "I was just driving the net. It felt like I got pushed in, but it can go either way. It's tough to say. "The refs, they have a job to do, and they make their calls. You can't overturn it now. You've just got to live with it." Buffalo outshot Dallas 14-7 in the third period, including two shots in the final minute with Ullmark pulled for the extra skater.

They said it
"It [stinks] to lose. We've got to think forward. We've got a seven-game homestand. We've got to bring the pace, bring the tempo and our greatest effort into those games." -- Sabres goalie Linus Ullmark "I never notice goalie interference when it's live. I'm just watching the play. That's why these refs, it's pretty impressive how they call that live." -- Stars coach Jim Montgomery

Housley said before the game Pominville and defenseman Matt Hunwick were replaced to get "fresh" players in the lineup following the win against Columbus.
