Sabres portraits

The Buffalo Sabres are getting new headshots thanks to the students at Persistence Preparatory Academy.

The students
drew portraits of each of the Sabres players
as part of Kids Takeover Day for the Sabres' game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The kids also drew portraits of the team mascot (Sabretooth), the team dog (Nikki), head coach Don Granato, general manager Kevyn Adams, as well as the team broadcasters.
The players signed their portraits ahead of the game and returned them to the students.

Every player enjoyed his headshot, and goalie Eric Comrie even got a special addition to his: a can of beans.
What's the meaning behind the can of beans? That's a mystery, even to Comrie.
"I don't know what that means," Comrie said. "I like it though.
"I don't eat a lot of beans, but it's good for you though," he added.
Players tried to guess who's headshot was who's, and forward Tage Thompson was spot on with his guess. He saw a portrait of Craig Anderson and guessed it right away.
"It's really good actually," Thompson said of the drawing. "They gave him a little more than he actually has."
