Lehner made a desperation lunge to his left to glove Alex Galchenyuk's shot from the slot on a backhand pass from Alexander Radulov.

Buffalo scored off the ensuing faceoff when Bogosian skated down the right side to take a pass from Ryan O'Reilly and scored on a slap shot past Carey Price.
"That was a game-changer," Price said about Lehner's save.
Price made 35 saves, including a spectacular glove save on Rasmus Ristolainen's wrist shot with 6.3 seconds remaining in the third period to keep it tied 2-2, moments after making another big save on Matt Moulson.
"They were two amazing glove saves and I think both goalies played very well and it's just the way the puck bounced tonight," Canadiens left wing Max Pacioretty said.
Brian Gionta and Cody Franson scored for Buffalo (19-18-9), which defeated the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 in overtime Friday.
"I think it's easy to put together the highlights of this one," Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said. "The end of the game there, the great glove save by Price was pretty amazing."
Artturi Lehkonen and Phillip Danault scored for Montreal (28-13-7), which got a 3-1 win at the New Jersey Devils on Friday.
Franson drew the Sabres even at 2-2 with his second goal of the season at 11:53 of the third period.
Danault gave the Canadiens a 2-1 lead when he tipped defenseman Jeff Petry's point shot past Lehner at 8:50 of the second period.
Lehkonen scored at 3:54 of the second to give Montreal a 1-0 lead.
Gionta tied it 1-1 at 4:50 when he was left unmarked to score his 10th goal from the left edge of the crease.

Goal of the game

O'Reilly won a faceoff back to Franson, who put a low shot past Price into the left side of the net for his first goal in 26 games since Nov. 17.

Save of the game

Lehner had a slight inkling about what Radulov was thinking before he set up Galchenyuk's one-timer from the slot, though he made the save by anticipating the play.

"Radulov did it twice to me today," Lehner said. "He came across the center ice and kept me going with him and passed it back against the grain. He's a very good player and I was just fortunate I got back."

Highlight of the game

Price was given a long standing ovation from the capacity crowd after his save on Ristolainen's rising wrist shot.

"That's why you play the game," Price said. "It's a lot, a lot of fun being out there and being able to come up with a save at the end of the game, but I'm just trying to get over the disappointment of the result."

Unsung performance of the game

Lehkonen began the play that led to his goal when he shot the puck along the boards from behind the Canadiens' net to Paul Byron in the neutral zone. The rookie forward trailed the play and stepped up to put a rebound of Byron's shot past Lehner for his 11th goal.

They said it

"Robin has played a lot of good hockey for us. He's played really well in net for us and hasn't got the result, hasn't gotten the win. And I think that's something that he's been dealing with, weighing on him. He wants to get the win and I think tonight, to me that save really was a turning point for Robin." -- Sabres coach Dan Bylsma on Robin Lehner, who was pulled after allowing three goals in 29:45 in his previous start Tuesday
"They were kind of sitting back on the 3-on-3 and waiting for a turnover or a chance to jump, and that's what they did." -- Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty
